About the Opportunity
Busier than ever, StoreLocal has two new opportunities for a Business Manager and a Relief Business Manager to join the team at their Thomastown facility in Melbourne.
The Business Manager will be working up to 40 hours a week, whilst the Relief Business Manager will be working up to 6 hours per week, depending on scheduling, with opportunities for additional hours at StoreLocal’s Northcote facility.
In both roles the successful applicants will be predominantly focused on sales, in addition to carrying out day-to-day operations, providing customer service, administrative support, facility maintenance and a hands-on approach to working within a small team and covering a diverse range of tasks.
More specifically, the day to day duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Ensuring customer inquiries are captured and followed up with appropriate and timely action;
- Engaging customers and driving the conversion of inquiries into sales;
- Prioritising daily tasks such as incoming phone calls, emails, dealing with customers and deliveries;
- Actively promoting the sale of services, packaging materials, merchandise and all add on sales;
- Parking and retrieving caravans and boats for StoreLocal clients;
- Maintaining customer records, ensuring that all details and charges are recorded accurately and reconciled;
- Reporting safety incidents and hazards, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the store.
To be successful, you will have previous experience in a sales role with exceptional communication skills and the ability to grow and cultivate genuine professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Operating within a busy, high demand environment you must be capable of learning processes quickly with minimal direct supervision in order to hit the ground running.
You will be energetic, personable, and confident while conversing with customers both inter-personally and over the phone to determine their requirements.
A former submarine construction warehouse, the Thomastown facility is HUGE, as such the strength of your resolve coupled with your ability to manage competing priorities calmly, professionally and efficiently will go a long way to ensuring your success. Most importantly, your previous sales experience will mean you are acutely aware of situations when there is the opportunity for a sale, asking for the business, and then finalising the deal, with the skills necessary to successfully operate within a market that can sometimes be slow moving and tricky to navigate.
You will be self-motivated, organised, have high attention to detail and take pride in your appearance and that of the workplace.
A current open drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is essential.
