StoreLocal Tweed Heads Chat
This month at StoreLocal Tweed Heads we spoke to one of the team members from our Tweed Heads Storage facility located at 6 Greenway Drive at Tweed Heads South. Here’s what Helen had to say:
StoreLocal: Where are you from?
Helen: I’m an ex-Mexican as they say, born down on the Victorian Morning Peninsular area of Frankston and moving to Qld with my family when I was 12 (not that long ago). I guess I’m a Queenslander well and truly now, but I do support the Blues for the State of Origin.
StoreLocal: What are your hobbies?
Helen: I would have to classify travel as my so-called ‘hobby’ which is always at the top of my list with Spain and Portugal next on my dream list. In addition, another hobby is finding and enjoying a delicious meal of King George Whiting and washing it down with a glass or two of Moscato Di Asti. What more could a girl want? I have been a staunch Hawthorn Hawks AFL supporter for many a year, along with the Melbourne Storm and Cowboys in the Rugby.
StoreLocal: How long have you been with StoreLocal?
Helen: I had the pleasure of joining StoreLocal at Tweed Heads in a contractor’s role since the start of July 2016.
StoreLocal: How long have you been in the self-storage industry?
Helen: I have been involved in the self storage industry for over 16 years. Previously, I was within the medical industry, both serving the public which I enjoy immensely.
StoreLocal: What do you enjoy most about StoreLocal Tweed Heads?
Helen: Whilst my days are still early, I am driven to face the challenge to soar this facility to its full potential I believe it can be.
StoreLocal: What’s the weirdest thing you have seen/heard about being in a storage shed?
Helen: I was blown away about a story I was told where a customer fell into arrears facing the sell up process and proceeded to the cutting of the lock on his unit. On opening, it was found an extra large coil of a ‘dead’ snake in appearance. I am led to believe it took two staff to cut this snake into large sections, into boxes and to remove it which with great effort. Two days after the snake was removed, the owner returned from a delayed overseas trip shattered, claiming the snake was very rare, in its hibernation period and it was a research assignment/project. A very sad ending to this story, even though the customer had breached his agreement conditions.
The front office at StoreLocal Tweed Heads is closed on Wednesday and Sunday but is open every other day from 8am until 12 midday. Access to your self storage unit is 7 days.
Offering units in a variety of sizes, packaging materials and moving boxes, StoreLocal Tweed has got you covered for your self-storage needs on the Gold Coast.
