About Redland Bay Tennis Club

After World War II, the Redland Bay Sports Club brought local sports together at the current site, where two ant-bed tennis courts were built by volunteer labour. The club was reinstated as Redland Bay Tennis Club (RBTC) in 1970, and in the 1980s improved its facilities with lighting, a joint-amenities building, new court surfaces, social play groups and ongoing volunteer-led upgrades.

The current RBTC committee have a real focus on making tennis as accessible as possible for everyone, but also on offering a community space people can access and connect with beyond tennis and other racquet sports. Currently there are over 350 members who participate in formal match play, coaching, social “have a chat” groups, cardio exercise groups and other specialised programs including school holiday activities, youth development, major fundraising events and non-tennis social events.
